Biography

I've been teaching guitar and bass (acoustic and electric)  as well as general music theory for almost twenty years.

I gained a Ba Hons degree at Leeds College of Music where I studied Classical and Jazz, majoring in composition.

During my time at the college I had a very eclectic range of music and  guitar teachers some of whom are the best players in the country.

After graduating, I mainly concentrated on composing, and was recommended to write for the Phoenix Dance Company as well as various small ensembles.  I've composed wedding music,  jingles and arrangements for bands.

Guitar was always my passion and teaching  friends in my spare time, spiralled into a busy and sucessful career.

I've been fortunate enough to have seen and be friends with some of the top musicians in the country. They keep me on my toes and continue to inspire.

I have a wide range of musical tastes.  From classical to jazz, rock to reggea, folk to funk and pretty much anything in between.  Never let me DJ at a party!

Music to me is a continuous journey that changes direction constantly and with a young family this change is sometimes obscure.  Where at one time I would be practising Bach, I'm now singing along to The Bare Necessities!  and... really enjoy it.
